The current iPad Air, due out in 2022, is a powerful tablet powered by Apple’s M1 chipset.

According to the latest reports, Apple is preparing an updated version that will have higher specifications.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, in his Power On newsletter, offered no obvious information about the new iPad Air, suggesting that a new tablet is in the works and will likely launch later this year.

“For those wondering about the iPad — another product that typically gets refreshed in October — I don’t expect any major upgrades until the M3 iPad Pros with OLED screens arrive next year. Higher specs, though. An iPad Air model is also in the works.

Given that Apple used the M1 in the iPad Air 5, it wouldn’t be surprising to see an M2 in the updated model, but other than that, we expect the other specs to remain the same, but at this stage, what the addition of extra specs brings changes will be less and less. We should get the same body as last year’s model, along with a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina IPS LCD panel that probably won’t get ProMotion support, which means the tablet will lose the faster refresh rate panel.

Users who want to experience ProMotion technology will have to spend a little more to upgrade to any model of iPad Pro. We also think the maximum internal storage and 8GB of RAM supported by the new iPad Air will remain the same, so it may be aimed at those who haven’t bought a powerful iPad yet, but want to stay out of the iPad Pro pricing territory. “

We think the only notable upgrade to the iPad Air 6 is support for Wi-Fi 6E, the wireless adapter found on both the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models.

As for the price, Gurman didn’t disclose that detail, but judging by the situation in the global market and the fact that Apple raised the price of the iPad 10 without sufficiently upgrading it, the new iPad Air may be cheaper than the iPad 10.

Its predecessor is slightly more expensive.

Thankfully, the introduction of the new iPad Air will mean that the 2022 version of the iPad Air will get a bigger price cut, making it more accessible to the masses.
