According to media keytogaming, Sony is developing PS5 Pro, code-named Trinity, and plans to release it in November 2024.
If the codename sounds a little familiar to you, you’re right. Sony has used codenames from The Matrix movies in the past, such as Neo for the PS4 Pro and “Murpheus” for the PS VR .
Development of the PS5 Pro is said to begin in early 2022.
Sources told KeyToGaming that while rumors of PS5 Pro project cancellations are always “interesting to read,” Trinity has been the only project going on for the Pro model.
Although the date is still uncertain, it is understood that the DEMO demonstration of PS5 Pro has already begun, and most studios will receive the development kit before the end of November 2023.
While the specs of the Pro are somewhat hard to pin down, sources say Trinity will have 30WGP and 18000mts of memory.
As for the performance of the host, PS5 Pro aims to have a stable and higher frame rate at 4K resolution, and will also introduce a new “performance mode” (to support 8K resolution), as well as accelerated ray tracing.
The report also said that PS5 Pro will be the last generation of PS host in this generation, and Sony will launch a new generation of host PS6 in 2028.
