Microsoft security update caused Outlook 2016 to fail to access links normally.
New on July 25. Recently, Microsoft issued an announcement acknowledging that there were problems with the previous update patch KB5002427 for Outlook.
It is reported that this problem will cause Outlook to be unable to access hyperlinks normally. After clicking the link in the email, if the path is a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) or IP address, the prompt “An unexpected error occurred in this URL” may pop up.
In this regard, Microsoft will make it clear that it will be fixed in subsequent versions.

In addition, Microsoft has also given temporary processing measures, the specific operations are as follows:
1. Go to Windows Settings.
2. Search and open “Internet Options”.
3. Click the Security tab and select Trusted Sites.
4. Add the URL, UNC, FQDN path you want to allow to “Add this website to the zone”. For example, add file://server.usa.corp.com
It should be noted that this action may make the device more vulnerable to malware attacks, so if possible, only add the FQDN or IP address of trusted sites.
