NVIDIA RTX 40 Series Graphics Cards Facing Potential Shortages Again? Reasons are Surprising.
The NVIDIA RTX 40 series graphics cards have been fully unveiled, boasting exorbitant price points.
There’s a high likelihood that the RTX 4050 might not even make an appearance.
But don’t just blame the high prices; having the money doesn’t guarantee availability. As we move into the third quarter, NVIDIA is readjusting its supply strategy for the RTX 40 GPUs.
According to reports, in the graphics card market, the DIY segment has been performing better than the laptop market.
However, NVIDIA is now catering to the demands of laptop manufacturers by diverting a larger portion of GPU supplies towards the laptop market, in a bid to aid the struggling laptop sector.
However, simultaneously, NVIDIA isn’t substantially increasing its production capacity.
This inevitably leads to a noticeable reduction in GPU supplies for the DIY market, possibly even resulting in demand outweighing supply.
Consequently, there’s a significant likelihood of encountering shortages in the RTX 40 series graphics cards once again during the third quarter.
Interestingly, not long ago, there were claims that NVIDIA’s overall supply of various GPU series during the third quarter would remain relatively stable, with only slight and inconspicuous increases. This would depend largely on the supply-demand dynamics.
Among these series, the RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 are the main focus, and their supply is expected to increase to some extent.
However, the increase won’t be substantial, and AIC manufacturers are also expected to regulate the supply to ensure monthly equilibrium.
There’s even speculation that the sales momentum and circulation speed of the RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 series have been slowing down recently, with the possibility of price reductions in the near future.
Though the various claims are not entirely consistent and even contradictory, NVIDIA, given its dominant position, holds considerable authority.
The company can adjust its strategies according to market conditions and its own considerations, making it challenging to predict how these adjustments will manifest in market supply-demand dynamics and price fluctuations.
