On January 12, ASRock took the lead in releasing a new version of BIOS P7.10 for its X370 Pro4 motherboard, officially adding support for the Ryzen 5000 Vermeer series, and the Ryzen 9 5950X, Ryzen 9 5900X, and Ryzen 7 5800X also generously appeared in the CPU list. , Ryzen 5 5600X.
The Ryzen 5000G Renoir series doesn’t appear, but the official changelog clearly says it’s supported.
But the price is that after the BIOS upgrade, the seventh-generation APU Bristol Ridge is no longer supported, which is also the first-generation AM4 interface product.
Subject to the limitation of the motherboard BIOS ROM chip capacity, this is also a last resort. Of course, no one should use the X370 to match the ancient APU.
As for other X370 motherboards, as well as B350 and A320 motherboards, ASRock has not made a statement and should follow suit.
Other motherboard manufacturers are definitely on their way.
However, the BIOS ROM chip capacity of the B350 and A320 motherboards is often smaller.
If you have to support the Ryzen 5000, you must sacrifice the support of more old models, or discard some non-essential features, or simplify the BIOS graphical interface.
In addition, the power supply design of the B350 and A320 motherboards may not fully meet the needs of the Ryzen 5000. Even if they can be used, the performance will be affected to some extent, and users need to make their own choices.
