Apple officially announced the discontinuation of the iPod Touch, series of iPod history also ended!

Apple announced today that it has officially discontinued the iPod touch, an outdated product that can be fully replaced by other devices such as the iPhone and iPad.

Apple says it’s phasing out the iPod touch because its features are replaceable across Apple’s entire product line.

Apple officially announced the discontinuation of the iPod Touch

The iPod touch, the only remaining device in the iPod lineup, hasn’t been updated since May 2019, or three years. “But the spirit of the iPod lives on in other Apple products,” Apple ‘s marketing chief Greg Joswick said in a statement.

“Music has always been a core part of us at Apple, bringing it to hundreds of millions of users the way the iPod did, impacting more than just the music industry — it’s redefining the way music is discovered, listened to and shared,” Apple Global Marketing Senior Vice President Greg Joswiak said. “Today, the spirit of the iPod lives on. We’ve integrated an incredible music experience across all of our products, from iPhone to Apple Watch to HomePod mini, as well as Mac, iPad and Apple TV. Apple Music offers industry-leading sound quality, with support for spatial audio — there’s no better way to enjoy, discover and experience music.”

Twenty-one years ago, in October 2001, Apple introduced the first iPod, a revolutionary music device at the time, putting thousands of songs in the pockets of Apple fans.

Apple introduced many iterations of the iPod, including the iPod Shuffle, iPod nano, and iPod touch, but they were all phased out and discontinued.

iPod touch stock is still available through Apple’s website, Apple Retail Stores, and Apple Authorized Resellers, while supplies last.

The seventh-generation iPod touch, which starts at $199, features a 4-inch display with thick bezels, includes a Home button but no biometric unlock mechanism, and has an A10 Fusion chip inside. It is available in pink, (PRODUCT) red, space grey, silver, gold and blue.
