Google Vice President Matt Madrigal said:
With the help of the Google Domains team, their priority is to support customers with a smooth transition over the coming months. Squarespace can provide an all-in-one experience for buying and managing domain names, while providing other tools these customers may need to build their websites.
Squarespace said all existing Google Domains customers will be able to renew at the current price for at least 12 months after the deal closes.
This transaction has no direct impact on your Google Domains account, and users do not need to do anything now. The deal, which is expected to close in the third quarter of 2023, is rumored to be priced at $180 million, and JPMorgan Chase is also partially financing the acquisition.
