When the time came to June, the research institution Statcounter also announced the latest changes in the browser market share as scheduled.

Unsurprisingly, Chrome remains the browser of choice for most users. If you only look at the desktop data, Chrome has a 66.02% share, but compared to last month’s data, Chrome’s share has dropped by 0.2%.

As a browser deeply bound to macOS, Safari successfully surpassed Microsoft Edge browser last month and became the second-ranked desktop browser in the global market share. In the new month, Safari’s market share has further increased, from 11.89% to 12.79%.

Coupled with the decline in Edge’s market share, the gap between the two has been further widened.

Microsoft Edge’s share in the latest statistics is less than 10%, and compared with last month, its share has fallen by 0.98%.

Judging from the data of Safari, can it also reflect that Apple’s Mac computer shipments are also very impressive in recent months?

This is just a personal guess, and the specific data may not be seen from the statistical results issued by other research institutions until the end of Q2.

The situation for Firefox is also not optimistic. In the same period in 2022, Firefox’s market share is about 8%. Now in almost a year, Firefox’s share is only 5.59%.

Among the top five desktop browsers, Opera is another browser that has seen an increase in market share besides Safari.

Considering that Opera has recently launched a newly designed Opera One browser and increased investment in AI functions, Opera market share rose by 0.9%.

  1. Chrome: 66.02% (-0.2%)
  2. Safari: 12.79% (+0.9%)
  3. Edge: 9.91% (-0.98%)
  4. Firefox: 5.59% (-0.31%)
  5. Opera: 4.02% (+0.9%)

The situation on the mobile side is very different.

Considering the deep integration of Chrome and Android, and Safari and iOS/iPadOS, the combined market share of the two is close to 90%.

As the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer, Samsung’s built-in Samsung Internet browser in the Galaxy series of mobile phones has also brought it nearly 5% of the market share.

  1. Chrome: 61.09% (-0.67%)
  2. Safari: 27.81% (+0.81%)
  3. Samsung Internet: 4.97% (+0.14%)
  4. Opera: 1.8% (-0.09%)
  5. UC Browser: 1.54% (-0.17%)
