Microsoft confirms: the two stable versions of Windows 10 v1909/20H2 have been abandoned, users quickly upgrade
Starting from May 10 this year, Microsoft will stop the Windows 10 Version 1909 feature update, along with Windows 10 Version 20H2. Now the official is also prompting users of these two versions to upgrade quickly.
Along with the four base editions of Windows 10, version 1909, including Home, Pro, Pro for Workstations, and Pro Education, the company will also retire all other special editions of Windows 10, version 1909, Microsoft said.
Win10 v1909 (19H2) was officially launched in November 2019. The expired versions will include Home Edition, Professional Edition, Professional Education Edition, Workstation Professional Edition, etc.
In fact, the share statistics show that the combined user share of v2004/20H2 has reached 80%. Of course, 11% of users are still in v1909.
Where v1909 is pushed, its main functions include adding event reminders directly through the calendar in the lower right corner, searching for OneDrive content in the search box of the explorer, better notification management, and evoking third-party digital assistants from the lock screen voice.
