Only $6: Wireless Raspberry Pi Pico W released
Raspberry Pi’s latest family member, Pico W, is on the shelves: supports 802.11n wireless networks for $6
The latest addition to the Raspberry Pi family is the Pico W, which is available for $6 with enhanced wireless networking.
The Raspberry Pi Pico W is an upgrade from last year’s Raspberry Pi Pico, a single-board computer built around the RP2040 chip.
Pico W is a small update for the Raspberry Pi IoT platform, which has sold over 2 million units.
With the introduction of the Raspberry Pi Pico W, the Pico platform now supports 802.11n wireless networking, making it more attractive for IoT applications, the Pico W retains pin compatibility with the original Pico, using the Infineon CYW43439 wireless chip.
Aside from the addition of 802.11n Wi-Fi, the Pico W is little changed from the Pico, and the W version that supports 802.11n WiFi costs $6 instead of the previous $4.
Raspberry Pi Pico W Specifications:
- MCU: Raspberry Pi RP2040 dual-core Cortex-M0+ microcontroller at 133 MHz with 264KB SRAM

Raspberry Pi not only released Pico W, but also announced two other Pico products, namely Pico H and Pico WH.
The version with the H word is an extra reserved pin header and debug connector (as shown in the figure below), while the basic version only has pins similar to pads.
The prices of Pico H and Pico WH are $5 and $7 respectively, which is $1 higher than that of Pico and Pico W.
Pico H and Pico W are currently on the market, while Pico WH will be available in August.
