Opera GX browser launches ‘Fake My History’ feature.

Opera GX browser recently announced the launch of the “Fake My History” feature.

After this function is activated, if you have not used the Opera GX browser for 14 consecutive days, the software will think that you may have passed away, so it will automatically delete the historical records, and forge false but serious historical records to prevent your family from viewing them through the historical records after death.

Opera GX browser launches 'Fake My History' feature.

When you browse unhealthy websites, your impression of innocence will change, as shown in the figure below——

News report: A netizen published his browsing records on the Internet when he was dying. Because the content he browsed was so abnormal that none of his relatives and friends attended his memorial service.

Maciej Kocemba, Director of Product at Opera GX, explains why this feature was introduced:

There is only one life, there is no archive or rebirth. So what will you leave behind when you die? Did you buy Lara Croft body pillows online?

With the Fake My History feature, we can help you clean up your traces and replace your content with a completely fake browsing history.

These fake browsing histories include:

  • Local Volunteering

  • Various free online learning courses

  • Related content that encourages participation in activities and voting in community activities

  • Create content related to recreational activities such as birdhouses

The Opera GX browser will automatically enable the “Fake My History” function after the user does not use it for 14 days.

If the user wants to experience it immediately, he can also select the “Pretend I’m Already Dead” option to enable the function immediately.
