Raspberry Pi Alternative with Qualcomm CPU and 64GB eMMC

Raspberry Pi Alternative with Qualcomm CPU and 64GB eMMC.

There are many SBC single board products on the market that claim to be able to compete with the Raspberry Pi, but most of them are based on the solutions of Rockchip and MediaTek.

A few days ago, the French company MakeMyBoard took a different approach and came up with a Qualcomm chip solution product Thunderberry5.

This set of SBC uses Qualcomm Snapdragon QCS610 processor, 8-core Kryo 460 CPU, 2 large cores + 6 small cores, and the highest main frequency is 2.2GHz. Compared with the 1.5~1.8GHz of Raspberry Pi 4B, it is far ahead on paper.

The SoC also integrates Adreno 612 GPU (845MHz), supported by AI unit, equipped with 4GB LPDDR4 memory and 64GB eMMC 5.1 flash memory, and supports Android 10 or Yocto embedded Linux system.

The video output supports HDMI 1.4 and 4K 30 codec, the microcontroller is RP4020, and the peripheral also provides Gigabit Ethernet ports, 4 USB 3.0, etc.

Other Alternatives of Raspberry Pi in market

There are several alternatives to Raspberry Pi that are available in the market. Some of the popular alternatives to Raspberry Pi are:

  1. BeagleBone: BeagleBone is a low-cost, open-source, single-board computer with similar features as the Raspberry Pi. It is powered by an ARM Cortex-A8 processor and has a variety of I/O pins and interfaces.

  2. Arduino: Arduino is a popular microcontroller board that can be programmed to control various electronic devices. It is available in different versions with varying features and specifications.

  3. Odroid: Odroid is a series of single-board computers that are similar to Raspberry Pi in terms of features and capabilities. They are powered by ARM processors and have a variety of I/O interfaces.

  4. ASUS Tinker Board: The ASUS Tinker Board is a single-board computer that is designed to be a direct competitor to the Raspberry Pi. It features a powerful ARM processor and has several I/O interfaces.

  5. NanoPi: NanoPi is a series of low-cost, high-performance single-board computers that are based on the ARM architecture. They are available in different versions with varying specifications and features.

It is important to note that each of these alternative SoCs has its own strengths and weaknesses, and the choice of the SoC should be based on the specific requirements of the project or application.
