Samsung 4TB 990 Pro SSD will launch in October for $344.99 and up.
A few weeks ago, Samsung teased that it would release a 4TB version of its 990 Pro SSD.
On Sep 06, the company confirmed the launch date, price and hardware details of this model.
Samsung said in a press release that the 4TB 990 Pro SSD has a maximum read speed of 7450 MB/s and a maximum write speed of 6900 MB/s. The random read and write speeds also reach 1600K and 1550K IOPS respectively.
Thanks to Samsung’s V8 1Tb high-density NAND and its memory stacking technology, the 4TB 990 PRO series continues to use a single-sided M.2 form factor, which is thinner and lighter than other double-sided M.2 SSDs. The single-sided M.2 form factor of the Samsung 990 PRO series can be installed in ultra-thin laptops with confidence.
The Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSD version will be available on the company’s website and other online retailers in October, priced at $344.99. In addition, there is also a version with a heatsink, priced at $354.99.
In addition to the new 4TB Samsung 990 Pro SSD, the company will also launch a new version of Magicician software, version 8.0. Samsung said that the new Magician 8.0 will be released later this month, ahead of the launch of the 4TB 990 PRO series. This is an integrated software solution for Samsung SSDs, portable SSDs, memory cards and USB flash drives.
Samsung did not specify what new features and improvements Magician 8.0 will include.
The 1TB version of the Samsung 990 Pro SSD sells for $99.99 on Amazon, while the 2TB version currently sells for $134.99.
