Russian Operating System Aurora OS 5.0 Unveils New UI
According to reports from Russian media outlet IXBT, the local company “Открытая мобильная платформа” showcased the interface and other details of Aurora OS 5.0 at the Mobius 2023 Autumn Mobile Developer Professional Conference held in St. Petersburg on November 9th and 10th.
Aurora OS introduces numerous improvements aimed at enhancing the usability of devices in everyday work scenarios. The most significant change involves a completely new user interface and gesture controls, redesigned based on two years of industrial usage and user research from the fourth generation Aurora OS.

The Director of Development and Service at the company stated, “Aurora OS 5.0 will allow us to more effectively utilize the space on large tablet screens and provide users with new conveniences in a multitasking environment. We are keen on design methodologies and trends, striving to create our unique approach, which equips us with distinct professional knowledge and experience.”

Aurora OS is developed based on Sailfish OS, which originated from MeeGo and was developed by the Finnish company Jolla as a mobile operating system.
