On November 21, according to BYD’s official microblog, BYD has secured over 70% of the market share in Japan’s electric bus market.

Recently, BYD officially announced the launch of the mid-sized electric bus J7 for the Japanese market. The vehicle is positioned as a mid-sized electric bus with a seating capacity of 61 people.

Equipped with BYD’s lithium iron phosphate blade battery, the J7 can achieve a single-charge range of 250 kilometers. While ensuring high safety, the bus features a fully flat floor design to expand the usable interior space and achieve a long driving range.

The J7 will start accepting reservations from January 1, 2024, with delivery expected in the fall of 2025.

On February 23, 2015, BYD first entered the Kyoto market in Japan, bringing five electric buses to Kyoto.
