Microsoft announced a new fix, KB5028166, for Windows 10 last week as part of the Patch  update.

However, it seems that the latest update has caused some issues, bothering Windows 10 users and even those of Synology NAS.

Windows slows down

According to a report on Reddit, Windows 10 users seem to have noticed system slowdowns after installing the latest update, including Microsoft’s own Apps and games, and some users reported that the screen refresh rate also dropped.

Some users said that KB5028166 caused network problems for Windows 10 users, including problems connecting to the network after installing the latest update, missing Bluetooth Driver, and more.

Synology NAS is also affected

The latest update from Microsoft seems to have some impact on business users as well.

Synology NAS users are facing issues establishing a secure channel after upgrading their systems, causing them to lose connection to Network Attached Storage (NAS).

While Synology released an emergency fix, according to the update notes, the issue affects users who have installed the Synology Directory Server package and use domains created with Synology Directory Server.

If users meet these criteria and install the KB5028166 update for Windows 10, they will not be able to create Remote Desktop or open certain RSAT management tools.

Synology has released a patch to address the issue, and the company recommends users download and install the patch manually from Package Center.
