Manjaro Linux 23.0 “Uranos” Officially Released.
Manjaro Linux 23.0, codenamed “Uranos,” has been officially released. This version comes with the Linux 6.5 kernel and the latest available drivers, along with upgraded desktop environments: GNOME 44, KDE Plasma 5.27 LTS, and Xfce 4.18.
According to reports, the GNOME version incorporates several updates based on the GNOME 44 series, including numerous fixes and refinements that were initially introduced in March 2023 with the release of GNOME 44.
One notable enhancement is the addition of grid view to the GNOME file chooser dialog. While the list view has been the default choice for selecting files based on their names, it wasn’t as user-friendly when choosing files by their thumbnails.
For years, GNOME users have been requesting the inclusion of a grid view in the file chooser, and it is described as one of the most highly praised changes in GNOME’s history.
The other two desktop environments also bring exciting new improvements.
Manjaro Linux is a fast, user-friendly, desktop-focused distribution based on Arch Linux. Some of its notable features include an intuitive installer, automatic hardware detection, a stable rolling release model, support for installing multiple kernels, special bash scripts for managing graphics drivers, and high desktop configurability.
