Apple is reportedly preparing a significant shake-up of its MacBook lineup, with plans to introduce both a budget-friendly laptop powered by iPhone processors and a premium touch-enabled OLED MacBook Pro, according to renowned Taiwanese analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Budget MacBook with iPhone Power
The most surprising development is Apple’s plan to launch an affordable MacBook in Q4 2025, featuring the same A18 Pro processor found in the iPhone 16 Pro. This strategic move aims to blur the lines between Apple’s mobile and desktop computing ecosystems while targeting younger consumers with a more accessible price point.
The budget MacBook will feature:
- 13-inch display, similar in size to the current MacBook Air
- A18 Pro processor with second-generation 3nm technology
- 6-core CPU, 6-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine for efficient AI processing
- Minimum 8GB RAM to support Apple Intelligence (potentially 16GB for enhanced multitasking)
